Welcome to my pattern for a granny square tote bag. I designed this bag for my daughter. She requested 'purple' and was super pleased with it once it was finished. I hope you enjoy making the bag! NB: I learnt to crochet using US terms, so although I live in the UK, I use US terminology as I know it better!

Congratulations! You have completed the granny square. :-)

You now need to make 10 of these squares and weave in the ends.

Lay out your squares in this pattern. You now need to join the squares using your preferred method. I used a darning needle and the purple yarn. This tutorial helped me! http://www.cherryheartcrochet.co.uk/2014/09/mattress-stitch.html?m=1#more

Fold the bag in half and join the sides together in the same way.

You can crochet handles or attach your own bought handles.

I crocheted 8dc stitches to the top of each triangle at the front, and did 27 rows of dc. I then joined the handles to the other side using the same method I used to join my squares together.

I hope you enjoyed my tutorial. Please comment with photos if you have made the bag, and thanks for reading!
